Kalki 2898 AD Box Office: Prabhas' Film Beats Shaitaan, Becomes 2nd Highest Hindi Grosser Of 2024

New Delhi: According to Sacnilk, after just one week in theaters, Prabhas' film Kalki 2898 AD has already earned more over ₹ 600 crore worldwide. The dystopian epic opened with ₹ 95.3 crore nett at the Indian box office. On its seventh day, the movie brought in ₹ 23.2 crore. Collections for the movie have decreased by 75% after its premiere. Sacnilk reports that the nett collection was ₹ 393.4 crore, with a notable reduction of only 14.23 per cent from the sixth to the seventh day. 



The Telugu translation of Kalki 2898 AD had an overall occupancy rate of 31.38% on the seventh day. The movie, which was directed by Nag Ashwin, was released in Malayalam, English, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu. According to Bollywood Hungama, the Telugu film made ₹ 202.8 crore in its first week in India, while the Hindi version brought in ₹ 152.5 crore, making it the second highest-grossing Hindi film of the year behind Fighter, which took in ₹ 199.45 crore. With a ₹ 149.49 crore nett earnings, Ajay Devgn's Shaitaan has been topped by Kalki 2898 AD. 

 


 In 2024, Hindi movies had a difficult year at the box office, but Kalki 2898 AD has the potential to be the highest-grossing Hindi movie of the year while it is in theaters. It has become the most popular Indian movie of 2024 worldwide. Within six days of its debut, Vyjayanthi Movies declared ₹ 610 crore in worldwide sales. While it is unclear if Kalki 2898 AD will eventually gross more than ₹ 1000 crore, it is expected to surpass the worldwide receipts of Shankar's 2.0 (Rs 744.78 crore) and Prabhas' Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire (approximately ₹ 600 crore). Other films that are expected to gross more than this include Dangal (Rs 2070 crore), Baahubali 2 (Rs 1788 crore), RRR (Rs 1230 crore), KGF Chapter 2 (Rs 1215 crore), Jawan (Rs 1160 crore), and Pathaan (Rs 1055 crore).

 

 

The world of Kalki 2898 AD is dystopian. The post-apocalyptic movie, which takes place in the year 2898 AD, draws inspiration from Hindu scriptures.

 

 

Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani play the main characters in Nag Ashwin's film.
